Made to a simple, classic recipe with pork from our own farm, these Traditional Old English Pork Sausages are bursting with flavour. Sizzled on the barbecue or just served with a big pile of mash, they’re sure to bring a smile to hungry faces!
Greendale sausages are made with pork, lamb and beef from our family farm in Devon. We follow strict animal welfare guidelines at our farm; we also use a carefully chosen local abattoir, and butcher our meat on-site at Greendale Farm Shop. Making delicious, decent-quality sausages by hand is a skilled operation – luckily, we have Stuart and his team to make sure we get ours just right. From traditional pork bangers to beef with black pepper and even gluten-free varieties, Greendale has a great selection of this beloved family favourite.
We use good quality offcuts from the pork shoulder and belly to make these classic sausages, mincing the meat by hand to ensure the right texture. We use natural casings, too, to add to the flavour.
Don’t prick your sausages, however you choose to cook them – this will allow the juices to run out of the meat during cooking and cause the meat to become dry. To pan fry, heat a small splash of oil in a heavy-bottomed pan, then add the sausages and cook over a medium heat for 15-20 minutes, turning them regularly until nicely browned all over. The sausages will need roughly the same amount of time over very hot charcoal on a barbecue – again, turn them regularly, and make absolutely sure they’re cooked all the way through before serving.

Local Delivery £4.95 - We offer a local delivery service for customers living in the EX1 to EX15 postcode areas. Choose from ‘Same day’ (orders placed by 12pm), ‘Next day’ (orders placed by 2pm) or ‘Specified day’ delivery.
Standard National Delivery From £7.95 - Order before 2pm and receive your items the next day, between 8am and 8pm. You can also specify whether you’d like it delivered in the morning or on a different day (Tuesday to Saturday).
Fresh Greendale Produce - Meat and seafood will be bagged and ready to cook or freeze on delivery. All fresh meat and fish will be vacuum-packed and labelled with use-by dates and a suggested frozen shelf life. Packaging or labelling may change depending on preparation or delivery limitations. When the meat or fish has been packaged it is immediately placed in an insulated polystyrene box and surrounded with chilled gel-packs to keep it cool and in perfect condition.
