Our butchers use the finest, subtly-flavoured leg meat from Free-Range Bronze Turkeys, removing the meat from the bone, carefully wrapping it around stuffing and then hand-tying it to create a decorative ‘cushion’ shape. Deliciously different, we think this special roast is something of a festive show-stopper!

Origins

Greendale Turkeys are sourced either from our own farm in nearby Woodbury Salterton, or from the Slade family at Rosamondford Farm, a mile away from Greendale Farm Shop. Raised from day-old chicks, the Turkeys are fed a simple, additive-free diet of wheat and vegetables (with no growth hormones or other drugs), and enjoy foraging in large, open paddocks. Their simple, natural lifestyle results in superbly flavoured meat, perfect for a traditional Christmas roast. Every Turkey sold comes with a guarantee of quality.

Butcher's Tips

This Turkey Cushion is carefully boned and then hand-tied to give it a distinctive shape - do remember to remove the string before carving.

How to Cook

Cook Preheat the oven to 190°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4. Place the Turkey Cushion in a roasting tin and cook for up to an hour, basting it once or twice with its juices if wished. The meat is cooked when, if it is pierced with a clean skewer, the juices run clear. When it is cooked, remove the Cushion from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes in a warm place before serving.

Click & Collect FREE - Order online and collect from our Farm Shop, on the A3052 Sidmouth road near Exeter. Collection options include ‘Same day’ (orders placed by 12pm), ‘Next day’ (orders placed by 2pm) or ‘Specified day’ (up to seven days in the future).

Local Delivery £4.95 - We offer a local delivery service for customers living in the EX1 to EX15 postcode areas. Choose from ‘Same day’ (orders placed by 12pm), ‘Next day’ (orders placed by 2pm) or ‘Specified day’ delivery.

Standard National Delivery From £7.95 - Order before 2pm and receive your items the next day, between 8am and 8pm. You can also specify whether you’d like it delivered in the morning or on a different day (Tuesday to Saturday).

Fresh Greendale Produce - Meat and seafood will be bagged and ready to cook or freeze on delivery. All fresh meat and fish will be vacuum-packed and labelled with use-by dates and a suggested frozen shelf life. Packaging or labelling may change depending on preparation or delivery limitations. When the meat or fish has been packaged it is immediately placed in an insulated polystyrene box and surrounded with chilled gel-packs to keep it cool and in perfect condition.
