Origins

Greendale Turkeys are sourced either from our own farm in nearby Woodbury Salterton, or from the Slade family at Rosamondford Farm, a mile away from Greendale Farm Shop. The free-range Duck comes from a carefully chosen poultry supplier, Creedy Carver, based at Merrifield Farm in Crediton, Devon. The birds roam grassy fields and are fed a low-density diet free from GM ingredients, additives or antibiotics, which allows them to grow more slowly, reaching maturity at their own pace. The Pheasant is either shot on Greendale farmland or bought from a local supplier near Crediton, Devon.

Butcher's Tips

Each bird in this impressive Roast has been boned, so that carving will be a doddle. The combined layers of different meats and stuffing make every slice look (and taste) amazing.

How to Cook

Preheat your oven to 190°C/350°F/Gas Mark 4. Place the Roast in a roasting tin, rub the outer Turkey layer with butter and cover with foil. Place the tin on the middle shelf of the hot oven and cook for 1 hour 20 minutes, then remove the foil and cook for a further 20-25 minutes, basting occasionally. As it cooks, the juices from each bird will run through the whole Roast, with each bird helping to cook the one inside. Check the roast is cooked through by testing whether the juices run clear when pierced right to the centre with a sharp knife or skewer. When cooked, remove the Roast from the oven and leave it to rest in a warm place for at least 15 minutes before carving.

Home Delivery

Our delivery service operates overnight for your next-day delivery. If an order is placed before 2pm, fresh produce from Greendale’s Farm Shop can be delivered to your door the next day. You can even specify whether you’d like it delivered in the morning or on an alternative day (Tuesday to Saturday). If you live in the East Devon catchment area, why not order online and collect from our Farm Shop. Click here for more information on our click and collect service. You can select from the following delivery options:

  • Standard anytime delivery - Order before 2pm and we’ll send out your fresh Greendale produce on an overnight service to be received the very next day between 8am and 8pm. Order over £75 and receive free delivery.
  • Morning delivery – Need your order in the morning? No problem chose our morning delivery service and receive your parcel between 8am and 1pm.
  • Saturday delivery – If you need your Greendale produce on Saturday there is a cost of £15

Click and collect

If you live in the East Devon catchment area, why not order online and collect from our Farm Shop, located on the main A3052 Sidmouth road south of Exeter. You can use our click-and-collect service to make sure you don’t miss out on the best cuts from our Butchers or our freshly caught fish of the day. Whether you’re ordering in your lunch break and collecting after work, or browsing and ordering from home and collecting your shopping during the school run, our Click and collect service is there for your convenience. You can order online, collect your order from the shop when it suits you – and perhaps take a relaxing break at our Farm Shop Café, too.

 Packaging

Meat and seafood will be bagged and ready to cook or freeze on delivery. All your fresh meat and fish will be vacuum packed, all labelled with use by dates and a suggested frozen shelf life, packaging or labelling may change depending on preparation or delivery limitations. Once the meat or fish has been packaged to keep it in prime condition we will place it into an insulated polystyrene box. The produce will be surrounded with chilled gel packs to keep it cool and in perfect condition.
